the morning after 1443.
I’ve been considering the space between the birth of khemennu (8/8) the birth of Penelope (8/13) and the birth of heru (8/19)
Some refer to this time as the lions gate portal but here in Senegal I’ve been feeling it in a different way.
8/8 was a perfect day — the day my little lion made his first full rotation around the sun and the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen in Senegal so far.
8/13 is when I realized what the name of this space (chez atum) should be called and all of the sketches I’d been working on made sense, or found space.
Its very similar to how I always work. I get these “downloads” and draw them out, make lists, arrange words, but do not necessarily know where they will take shape.
This is how the pocketbook was born/realized when I returned from Thailand in 2019.
It makes me wonder if the chez will not truly open until I leave Senegal, but then be used as a tool to help me return once again.
It is so divine to me that I returned this time because I wanted to experience the inundation — so much of what I studied of ancient kemet very actively takes place in the present here.
8/18 was the end of a year and the beginning of a new one 8/19
Matisse turned 3 and the year (1443) also adds up to 3
My information was that Sirius rose around 8/11 — but here the new year was celebrated on 8/18 (the eve) and 8/19 was the first day of the new year.
At the moment the question is always will we stay or will we go.
Many of my projects are experiencing delays due to the delta rising… but how funny that is like the nile rising… and it will not be until December when we go forth…
On a side note — there is an unoccupied space in the village that I always see on our walk to the tailor and I am beginning to dream about rebuilding… how it could be reimagined for life inside… different from the house of babacar and different from the space in thioupam. This would be the house of Ibra
There would need to be private interior chambers, as well as open space to welcome guests, friends, family, and children from the village to come inside. a bowl for lotus to grow.
How divine it would be to sit with pher ankh and arrange the pathways using sacred geometry and Feng shei for optimal flow.
We shall see.
